January 15th Community Meeting a SUCCESS!!!

Thank you to everyone who attended the January 15th centennial community meeting. The meeting left everyone extremely excited about the opportunities that 2012 presents to the city of Lawrence. Members from across the community were on hand to offer input on the centennial planning process. There's an excellent article written by Yadira Betances about the meeting in the Lawrence Eagle Tribune. A special thank you to Steering Committee Chair Bob Forrant for acting as a "MC" of sorts, to Dexter Arnold and Jim Beauchesne for presenting a brief overview of the history of the strike, to the Friends of the Library for providing refreshments, to MaryKate Small and the People's Music Network for providing a musical number, and to the Lawrence Heritage State Park for providing the meeting space. If you missed this meeting don't worry! We'll be meeting regularly on the 1st Tuesday of every month from 6-8pm at the Lawrence Heritage State Park. The next meeting will be Tuesday Feb 1st from 6-8pm at the LHSP COME ONE! COME ALL!
