This Friday night from 7-9pm stop by the Monarch Lofts at 210 Merrimack St in Lawrence for a poetry jam on the themes of the Bread & Roses Strike. The event is sponsored by the Bread & Roses Centennial Committee, the Monarch Lofts, and the Robert Frost Foundation.

2011 Bread & Roses Heritage Festival a Success!

On labor day thousands of people assembled on the North Common in Lawrence, MA to celebrate labor day the way it was intended to be celebrated. Families and working people enjoyed music and dance from renowned artists, art and ideas from artists and social justice groups, and delicious food from a variety of ethnic vendors. It was truly and festival for working people, their history and future. 

Bread & Roses Centennial Committee Meeting 9/7/11

The Bread & Roses Centennial Committee will be having its monthly meeting tonight, Wednesday September 7th from 6-8pm at the Lawrence Heritage State Park at 1 Jackson St., Lawrence, MA.

In addition to updates and news from various member groups we will be focusing considerable attention on the planning of the September 23rd Poetry Jam, the October 23rd Fundraising Concert, and the Academic Symposium.
